Gino De Dominicis, Lo Zodiaco

Gino De Dominicis, Lo Zodiaco is the title of a photo book in the form of a leporello. In 1970 De Dominicis, one of the most elusive late 20th-century artists, realized an epic show at the gallery L’Attico in Rome. The exhibition was conceived as a tableau vivant where the twelve zodiac signs, embodied by inanimate objects, human characters or real animals, faced the public standing in semicircular formation for five days.

Fausto Giaccone, at that time at the outset of his career as a photographer, realized a unique photo shoot – rediscovered only a few years ago – documenting Lo Zodiaco by following the passing of the visitors and of the artist himself through the gallery space.
