NERO is an international publishing house devoted to art, criticism and contemporary culture. Founded in Rome in 2004, it publishes artists’ books, catalogs, editions and essays.

NERO explores present and future imaginaries beyond any field of specialization, format or code – as visual arts, music, philosophy, politics, aesthetics or fictional narrations – extensively investigating unconventional perspectives and provocative outlooks to decipher the essence of this ever changing reality.

Mark Sealy

is a curator and writer interested in the relationship between photography and social change, identity politics and human rights. Since 1991, he has been the director of Autograph ABP, an arts and photography charity based in London. Sealy has produced numerous artist publications, curated exhibitions, and commissioned projects from photographers and filmmakers around the world, including the recent critically acclaimed exhibition Human Rights Human Wrongs curated for Toronto’s Ryerson Image Centre in 2013 and the Photographers’ Gallery in London in 2015.
