NERO is an international publishing house devoted to art, criticism and contemporary culture. Founded in Rome in 2004, it publishes artists’ books, catalogs, editions and essays.

NERO explores present and future imaginaries beyond any field of specialization, format or code – as visual arts, music, philosophy, politics, aesthetics or fictional narrations – extensively investigating unconventional perspectives and provocative outlooks to decipher the essence of this ever changing reality.

Maria Paola Zedda

is an independent curator, writer and researcher focusing on border studies, within the intersectional field of performance, dance and visual arts. Her practice explores the potential of the body and performativity in the public sphere as a vehicle for transforming urban and hybrid landscapes. She was the artistic Director of Cagliari Capitale Italiana della Cultura in 2015 and worked on several projects ever since, such as Across Asia Film Festival, CampoSud, Swiss Contemporary Factory. As a dramaturg, she works with artists such as Enzo Cosimi and Valentina Medda. She is curator and artistic director of the art project Le Alleanze dei Corpi in Milan.
