NERO is an international publishing house devoted to art, criticism and contemporary culture. Founded in Rome in 2004, it publishes artists’ books, catalogs, editions and essays.

NERO explores present and future imaginaries beyond any field of specialization, format or code – as visual arts, music, philosophy, politics, aesthetics or fictional narrations – extensively investigating unconventional perspectives and provocative outlooks to decipher the essence of this ever changing reality.

Giulia Menegale

is an independent curator and editor living in Venice, Italy. At the moment, she is a Ph.D. candidate in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage at IMT (Lucca, Italy). She investigates the legacy of institutional critique on the curatorial and artistic practices of 21st century. She holds a BA in Visual Art from IUAV (University of Architecture of Venice) and a MA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2022-23, she took part in CuratorLab Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm and contributed to the public programme of Autostrada Biennale, Kosovo. She has curated a series of books on art and theory for Ayiné Editoria, Belo Horizonte-Venice, BR-IT. She has collaborated as a curatorial, editorial and research assistant for Looking Forward C.I.C. (London, UK), Castello di Rivoli - Museum of Contemporary Arts (Turin, IT), Platea (Lodi, Italy) and developed independent curatorial projects worldwide.
