Emilia Estrada
(b. Córdoba, Argentina, 1989) is an artist and researcher based in Rio de Janeiro. Her practice examines displacement and occupation, investigating how power inscribes itself in archives and spatial representations. Through drawing, installation, and archival research, she engages terrestrial and celestial cartographies as instruments that naturalize borders and legitimize processes of exploitation. Approaching the archive as a contested field rather than a neutral repository, Estrada constructs speculative mappings that expose the arbitrariness of historiography and the symbolic systems shaping territorial imaginaries. She has held a solo exhibition at SESC Ramos (2025) and participated in group exhibitions at Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio (2025), Museu de Arte do Rio (2021), Museu Nacional de Belas Artes (2018), and SESC Pompéia (2022–23), among others.
