NERO is an international publishing house devoted to art, criticism and contemporary culture. Founded in Rome in 2004, it publishes artists’ books, catalogs, editions and essays.

NERO explores present and future imaginaries beyond any field of specialization, format or code – as visual arts, music, philosophy, politics, aesthetics or fictional narrations – extensively investigating unconventional perspectives and provocative outlooks to decipher the essence of this ever changing reality.

Dina Mattar

is a Palestinian visual artist born in Gaza in 1985 and a member of the Eltiqa Group for Contemporary Art. She has participated in numerous exhibitions across the Arab world and Europe, as well as in international residencies, including the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. In 2022, her works were presented as part of documenta 15 in Kassel, Germany, through a collaborative exhibition between Eltiqa Group and the Question of Funding collective. She has received several awards, including the Humanitarian Lady Award from the Government of Chile and the Creative Woman in Palestine Award. Her works have also been commissioned by Abu Dhabi Art Fair within the Artists in Historic Sites program, and she took part in Sharjah Biennial 16 (2025). Mattar’s works are held in the collections of major institutions, including the Abdel Mohsin Al-Qattan Foundation (London), Art Jameel (Dubai), Sharjah Art Foundation, and the Bank of Palestine, among others. Her practice often reflects the everyday stories of Palestinian women, embedding hope and resistance at the center of her artistic expression.
